Thank you Tenneco Corp. for your $2,000 Contribution

We just received a very generous contribution of $2000 from Tenneco Corporation for 2014.  A huge thanks must go out to our very own Gregg Griffith for working for our association and keeping us in front of these great corporate partners.

For those who don't already know Tenneco Inc. (NYSE: TEN) is one of the world's leading designers, manufacturers and distributors of clean air and ride performance products and systems for the automotive, commercial truck and off-highway markets and the aftermarket. The company is well-balanced across end-markets, geographic regions, customers, product lines and vehicle platforms.

  • Nearly 26,000 employees worldwide
  • 89 manufacturing facilities on six continents
  • 14 engineering centers around the world

You may know them best by the variety of brand names they represent, their most popular off road brands include Rancho & Dynomax but that's just a few of their brands. This donation will be put to great use while we continue to promote Off Road Conservation and Education right here in the Southeastern USA.

Please be sure to support these great brands. http://www.tenneco.com/our_brands/

"Mud 4 Blood" & "4 Wheeling for a Cure" updates

We hope you all had an opportunity to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend. SFWDA is proud to support these two events which both go a long way to support our communities and give back to a great causes.

The "4 Wheeling for a Cure" event to benefit St. Jude's Charity raised several thousand dollars onsite at Windrock yesterday in addition to a large sum online directly through St. Jude's website as well. (It's not too late to contribute either.)

Meanwhile down near Atlanta, Ga the "Mud 4 Blood" event in it's 11th year yesterday raised 86 pints of blood in just 7 hours. This will go a long way to help many people through the cooperation of Life South's Community Blood Centers mission.

This is who we are, and this is what we do. If you would like to be a part, please reach out and let us know. Your all invited to join us at TrailFest May 2-4, at Adventure Off Road Park and do your part to help further unite as 4x4 enthusiasts. Come on out for a day, a night, or the whole weekend. Registration is a nominal flat fee and will unlock a whole weekend full of activities. We would love to see you all out there.

Better yet, You can get involved right now if you like. Join us as we plan our future organizing events, developing new trail systems, preserving existing trails, educating enthusiasts,  and always promoting safe responsible four wheeling. Join us now with a small contribution or register to become a member.

Tom's 4x4 Customer Appreciation Day

image.jpg

At Tom's 4x4 Superstore in Chattanooga, TN hundreds of enthusiasts gathered as Tom and his wife put on a Customer Appreciation Day open to the public. Several members of SFWDA were there to connect with many new and regular Off- Roaders browsing around meeting the shop staff and the invited vendors. They even hosted a free lunch for all who came out. Inside his shop their deals all around as the day continued the crowd continued to grow, browsing the showroom and vendor booths. Tom himself then gave a memorable mention to Southern and what were all fighting for. Then they all gave away a bunch of free gear in their raffle.

Immediately following the raffle we all headed out to enjoy a day on trails at Adventure Off Road Park.

Proof of concept validated, BLM & OHV together

Check out this article I found today which reads to inspire and prove that we are on the right path.

This Utah “Win-Win” Is Good For OHV Riders And The BLM

By Dave Halsy, NOHVCC Contributing Writer

image.jpg

Off-highway vehicle (OHV) riders need trails. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) needs volunteers to help sign and maintain trails. A BLM recreation technician coordinates volunteer projects. OHV riders show up and help get the job done.

That’s a common success story at BLM Field Offices.

In Utah, they’ve taken that win-win scenario to the next level: The hours OHV riders volunteer on trail projects help pay the salary of the BLM Rec. Tech.
