The Southern Four Wheel Drive Association Board of Directors continues its hard work to refocus our association and our efforts for 2015. As most of you are aware, the association is implementing sweeping changes to the membership structure. Additionally we introduced the SFWDA Grant program to allow each of our member clubs to directly address the needs of your local area and communities with this tool. The key to our grant program is that we embrace our core missions of Conservation, Recreation and Education.
This past week several SFWDA volunteers met with the National Forest Service Ranger and Engineering Manager representative; Valencia Morris regarding the design and construction parameters in building new trails at Beasley Knob OHV area.
Dixie Run is all about riding the trails with family and soaking in the intense atmosphere. This the 28th year now for this event which continues to be successfully organized by loyal and dedicated volunteers who all work together to make this an enjoyable event members of SFWDA as well as fellow enthusiasts alike.
Here is my personal take as an example of some of the great spots and beautiful scenery we were able to enjoy on this Scenic Vistas and Waterfalls Excursion Tour.

They'll have camping, wheeling, food, races, fundraising auction, and this year a Mud Sling Competition.
The Forest Service recently encountered a firestorm of protest from a constituency that generally hasn’t been opposed to the agency’s management of wilderness areas. That all changed when the agency floated a proposed rule that would require news agencies to pay a fee and get a permit to cover news stories in designated wilderness areas.

We are very pleased to announce that our newest 4x4 club to join SFWDA for the very first time is Rock Corps 4x4 out of Marion, NC. We are in our 6th year since we formed. They started out with six guys, just looking for somewhere local to wheel.
